Gran Premio di Svezia, Uddevalla

Il dodicesimo round del Campionato del Mondo MXGP ad Uddevalla, in Svezia, ha visto trionfare Tony Cairoli per la settantesima volta in carriera; la vittoria di oggi è frutto di una doppietta nata dopo due hole-shot fulminanti. Il pilota del KTM Red Bull Factory Racing Team aveva cominciato il fine settimana svedese sotto tono, provato dai postumi dell’influenza che lo aveva colpito in Germania e da un fastidio muscolare alla schiena. Al sabato, dopo il  dodicesimo tempo delle crono, si era assicurato il quarto cancelletto con una gara in difesa, senza prendere rischi. Domenica in entrambe le manche la partenza si è rivelata determinante ed ha permesso a Tony di partire in testa, guadagnando decimi preziosi ad ogni giro e portando il vantaggio fino al traguardo. Alla guida della sua KTM SX350F il sette volte Campione del Mondo ha imposto il suo ritmo agli avversari che non sono riusciti mai ad impensierirlo. Dalla Svezia Cairoli riparte con 45 punti di vantaggio sul diretto inseguitore in Campionato, Jeremy Van Horebeek (Yamaha).

Tony Cairoli: “Sono molto contento di come è andata oggi ovviamente, perché ultimamente ho faticato a trovare il giusto feeling, a causa di tutti i problemi di cui ho sofferto ed anche questa settimana non ero in perfette condizioni fisiche. Ieri, dopo la qualifica, non ero molto fiducioso, ma oggi sono riuscito a guidare bene ed a non commettere errori, sono molto contento di vedere che il lavoro fatto in queste ultime settimane stia dando i suoi frutti, ora bisogna continuare in questa direzione. 70 Vittorie sono un record fantastico, ma io guardo avanti, al prossimo traguardo.”

Grand Prix of Sweden, Uddevalla

Tony Cairoli won his seventieth Grand Prix today, in Uddevalla, that was the twelfth round of the MXGP World Championship. The rider of the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team started the Swedish weekend, suffering the aftereffect of the flu he got in Germany and a muscular pain in the back. On Saturday, after the twelfth time in the time practice, he secured the fourth gate with a defensive race, without taking risks. Today’s victory is the result of two fantastic hole-shots; in both moto the start was decisive and allowed Tony to take the lead and gaining tenths of second at every lap. Driving his KTM SX350F, the seven-time World Champion, managed to control the races till the checkered flag. Cairoli leave Sweden  with 45 points ahead of the closest rival in the Championship, Jeremy Van Horebeek (Yamaha).

Tony Cairoli: “I’m very happy with how it went today, because with all the problems that I have suffered in the past days it was not easy and it’s long time that I’ve struggled to find the right feeling. Even this week I was not in good physical condition, my back was sore yesterday and after the qualifying race, I was not very confident; but today I was able to ride well and avoid mistakes, I am very pleased to see that the work we have done in the last few weeks is paying off, now we must continue in this direction. For sure the seventieth victory it’s a fantastic achievement, but I look forward for the next goal.”
