CERIMONIA DI APERTURA DEL TRANSANATOLIA RALLY 2022

Xavier De Soultrait in cerca di un nuovo oro in sella a KTM 690 R.

DAY 1-Antiochia –

E’ la città di Antiochia nella provincia di Hatay a prendere a battesimo la 12^ edizione del TransAnatolia Rally con 80 equipaggi al via.

Ritorna il rally creatura di Burak Büyükpınar e Orhan Celen con l’inconfondibile claim “RIDE WITH HISTORY, CULTURE AND NATURE” che per il 3° anno consecutivo può vantare un road book autoriale redatto dal dakariano Mr. Jordi Arcarons. 34 moto, 35 macchine, 4 quad, 5 SSV e un Truck sono i mezzi che daranno spettacolo in questi 8 giorni di gara per 2736 chilometri di percorso totali dei quali 1780 chilometri sono di prove speciali e 947 chilometri sono di trasferimenti.

Un lungo ed appassionante rally-raid che taglia in due la Turchia dalla provincia di Hatay (ai confini con la Siria) per arrivare sino ad Eskisehir. Sono ben 14 i piloti Azzurri che cercheranno di dare lustro al tricolore e che punteranno a presidiare i 3 gradini del podio. Michele Cotti in sella a KTM 500, 3° miglior interprete dello scorso anno, corre con il cristallino intento di fare bene anche in questa edizione; Francesco Catanese è pronto a bissare il titolo e il gradino più alto del podio ottenuto nel 2017, questa volta in sella Yamaha Ténéré 700. Per la 1^ volta in territorio turco si presenta Nicola di Piero, in arte Nico Traverso, anche lui pronto ad amministrare la sua Ténéré 700, ed ancora il dakariano Elio Aglioni, Luca Zussino con Honda 450, Andrea Pighetti con Honda XR 650, Gilberto Facco in sella a KTM Rally 450, Massimo Ferrari con Husqvarna 450, medesima moto per il fedelissimo del campionato Italiano Motorally Riccardo Vitali e Massimiliano Guerrini.

Per la categoria SSV si schierano per i colori italiani Federico Butto’ e Martino Albertini mentre ritorna per la 10^ volta al TransAnatolia Rally Marino Mutti accompagnato da Andrea Mazzoleni con il suo fedelissimo Mercedes Unimog.

Giornata ricca di appuntamenti quella odierna ad Antiochia iniziata con le verifiche tecniche ed amministrative, il briefing con tutti i centauri per poi proseguire con la cerimonia ufficiale di inizio Rally andata in scena alle 18.30, dove gli occhi erano tutti puntati sul plurititolato Xavier De Soultrait e la sua KTM 690 R. Il pilota francese si è concesso a moltissimi scatti fotografici facendo intendere di voler bissare l’oro assoluto ottenuto 2 anni fa. Con l’imbrunire i piloti hanno affrontato un prologo di 3 chilometri con Xavier De Soultrait a staccare il miglior tempo davanti a Elio Aglioni e Michele Cotti con lo stesso crono, Ejder Eristi, Francesco Catenese, Massimo Ferrari, Gilberto Facco e il resto del circus Transanatolia.

Domani i piloti affronteranno 2 prove speciali rispettivamente di 122 e 105 chilometri su un percorso totale di 371 chilometri.

OPENING CEREMONY OF THE TRANSANATOLIA RALLY 2022

Xavier De Soultrait looking for a new gold on the KTM 690 R.

DAY 1-Antakya- The 12th edition of the TransAnatolia Rally with 80 crews begins from Antakya in the Hatay province.The rally created by Burak Büyükpınar and Orhan Celen is back with the same claim “RIDE WITH HISTORY, CULTURE AND NATURE” which for the 3rd consecutive year can boast an authorial road book written by Jordi Arcarons. 34 motorbikes, 35 cars, 4 quads, 5 SSV and 1 Truck are the vehicles that will put on a show in these 8 days of racing for a total of 2,736 kilometers of which 1780 kilometers are special tests and 947 kilometers are for transfers. A long and exciting rally-raid that will split Turkey in two from the province of Hatay (on the border with Syria) to reach Eskisehir. There are 14 Italian drivers who will try to give prestige to theirs flag and who will aim to occupy the 3 steps of the podium.

Michele Cotti riding a KTM 500, 3rd best interpreter of last year, runs with the crystalline intention of doing well in this edition; Francesco Catanese is ready to repeat the title and the highest step of the podium obtained in 2017, this time on Yamaha Ténéré 700. For the 1st time in Turkish territory, Nicola di Piero, a.k.a. Nico Traverso, is also ready to manage his Ténéré 700, and again the Dakarian Elio Aglioni, Luca Zussino with Honda 450, Andrea Pighetti with Honda XR 650, Gilberto Facco riding KTM Rally 450, Massimo Ferrari with Husqvarna 450, same bike for Riccardo Vitali and Massimiliano Guerrini.

For the SSV category, Federico Butto ’and Martino Albertini line up for the Italian colors, while Marino Mutti returns for the 10th time to the TransAnatolia Rally accompanied by Andrea Mazzoleni with his  Mercedes Unimog. The day in Antakia began with the technical and administrative checks, the briefing with all the riders and then continued with the official Rally start ceremony staged at 18.30, where all eyes were focused on the multi-titled Xavier De Soultrait and his KTM 690 R. The French driver has allowed his fans to take many photographs, suggesting that he wants to repeat the absolute gold obtained 2 years ago.

During the dusk the drivers faced a 3 kilometer prologue with Xavier De Soultrait setting the best time ahead of Elio Aglioni and Michele Cotti with the same time, Ejder Eristi, Francesco Catenese, Massimo Ferrari, Gilberto Facco and the rest of Transanatolia circus.Tomorrow the riders will face 2 special tests of 122 and 105 kilometers on a total distance of 371 kilometers.
